“Past Present and Future of Public Space” is an academic international conference promoted by the Italian non-profit organization City Space Architecture. It explores new dimensions of the public realm and discusses the results of research activities, through an interdisciplinary approach, on public space and related topics, comparing theories and projects, bridging knowledge to implementation and policy.

This is the fifth "Past Present and Future of Public Space" conference, the first one took place in Bologna in 2014 (short report), the second (2016), third (2018) and fourth conferences (2021) took place at the Venice Architecture Biennale. After 10 years the conference is back in Bologna!

The fifth conference will take place in Bologna on 25-27 June 2024 and it is promoted by City Space Architecture in collaboration with Museo Spazio Pubblico, Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, ISOCARP – International Society of City and Regional Planners, European Prize for Urban Public Space, under the patronage of Comune di Bologna and Regione Emilia-Romagna.
